Brake dust is the dark, fine residue you often see on your car’s wheels, especially near the front tires. It forms as a result of friction between the brake pads and the rotors, both of which wear down over time. As they do, they release microscopic particles composed of metallic fragments, carbon, adhesives, and sometimes even ceramic compounds.

  4. Rinse Thoroughly: Flush the wheel to remove cleaner and dislodged dust. Ensure that no residue is left behind.
  5. Dry Immediately: Use a clean microfiber towel to dry the wheel and prevent water spots.

If brake dust has settled on your car’s paint, especially near the fenders or lower panels, use a clay bar kit or iron fallout remover. 

Avoid harsh scrubbing as these particles can scratch clear coat layers if not softened and safely lifted first.
